The Banquet

Caught this on DVD. Am glad I didnt pay to watch it at the cinemas. I rank it at the same level as Curse of the Golden Flower. And I want to know who killed her.

The only saving grace is Daniel Wu for eye candy though I feel that he looks much better in a modern/current setting without the silly long hair and stuff.

Taipei Part II

We ate, we shopped, we slept, we hiked, we drank, we ate some more, we shopped some more....We did things which we normally cannot or would not have done with our respective spouses on holidays; simply coz guys are not that into shopping at all!

Shopping at Shilin Nite Market

We drank a lot of bubble tea when we were there!

Fried fish fritters!

Taiwanese style Fried Oysters. Yummy!

The real mee-suah! Much better than what you get from Shilin in SG

Chocolate ice cream with banana crepe

Fried Chicken Fillet

Famous Lao-Dong Beef Noodles
Local Taiwanese style breakfast
Check out the rice. Its in the shape of Mickey Mouse!
3 of us at a BBQ dinner buffet. Burp!
Meat, meat and more meat!

Tang yuan in tong-sui. We were expecting bigger tang yuans.
Last (& most expensive) dinner in Taiwan. Had it in this restaurant called Kiki. We just walked past it and went in. Found out after the fact its actually a famous restaurant there.
Last meal at Taipei CKS Airport

Beef noodles at airport before going home. Not as nice as that at Lao-Dong.

Taipei Part I

Lay Been, Poh Lian and I holidayed in Taipei together. It was a much overdue trip as it was supposed to be a trip to celebrate our entry into the 30's. Our busy schedules meant that it was a real challenge getting the 3 of us to take time off at the same time.

Nevertheless, we had a blast there despite the cold (and sometimes wet!) weather. We should do this again! :)

Lay Been & mi in the line-up at Taiwanese Immigration
Legalised vandalism
Poh Lian & mi at a local dessert cafe
Strawberries were in season when we were there. Yummy!
3 of us at the National Palace Museum
3 of us in front of Chiang Kai Shek Memorial
Mi with Taipei101 in background
Yang Ming Shan was literally empty due to the cold weather. I would love to go back to this place again in spring when the flowers bloom.
We spent 15 mins in the cold trying to balance the camera on an uneven piece of rock to take this pic....until an angel came along to take for us. I still suspect he is not human :P

Coffee's Masterpiece

Dunno if you can see the shape that the pen is in - but Coffee was caught literally with his pants down (though he does not wear any) with this sticking out of his mouth! He had chewed through both edges of the pen. Amazing thing is that his mouth was not blue at all....Mabbe the pen has ran out of ink...
